Why Four Weeks Matters
One pottery workshop gives you a lovely evening. Four weeks give you something to come back to.
Meeting the same people each week makes conversations feel easier and more natural.
This course is designed to help people connect through creativity while learning pottery together. Every session starts with a short creative check-in, so people quickly feel part of the group. Then you’ll learn a new hand-building technique and create with clay around the same table.
What you’ll learn
Week 1. Welcome & Explore
Creative check-in, introductions, and a simple clay activity to get to know each other.
Discover clay, learn the pinch technique, and create your first pottery piece.
Week 2. Build Together
Learn coiling and slab-building techniques while creating larger forms.
Week 3. Make It Yours
The group starts to feel familiar. Sharing ideas and helping each other comes naturally.
Experiment with textures, carving, and decoration to give your pottery its own character.
Week 4. Finish & Celebrate
Celebrate what you’ve created together and leave feeling at home with the group.
Glaze your pottery and complete the final step before firing.

Angelina
I’ve been working with clay for over a year, and even though my shelves are already full of pottery, I still can’t stop making it. That’s probably because pottery has become much more than a hobby for me.

I’ve been helping people explore pottery for the past year, and I still love seeing what happens when someone discovers they can create something with clay. I find teaching just as rewarding as making pottery.
FAQ
Do I need experience to attend a workshop?
No. Clay Connections is designed for complete beginners. We’ll guide you step by step throughout the course.
Can I join if I don’t know anyone?
Absolutely. Most participants come on their own. Throughout the course, our facilitators lead simple connection activities that help conversations start naturally while you’re creating together.
Why four weeks instead of one workshop?
Because connection takes time. One evening gives you a lovely experience, but four weeks give you something to come back to. Seeing the same people each week makes conversations feel easier and more natural. Week by week, you’ll feel more comfortable, more welcome, and start looking forward to coming back every Monday.
Is this a technical pottery course?
You’ll learn practical hand-building pottery techniques throughout the course. But our main focus is creating a welcoming space where creativity helps people connect.
What if I miss one session?
Each session builds on the previous one, so we recommend attending all four whenever possible. If something unexpected comes up, please get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to help.
What should I bring?
Nothing. Everything you need is included. We recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on.
Will I keep my pottery?
Yes. After glazing and kiln firing, your finished ceramic pieces will be ready to collect.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy. We’ll provide everything else.
