Either way, you’ll be on the path to making new yarny friends in Berlin.

Beginners:

If you’ve never knitted or crocheted a stitch before, our workshop leaders will teach you the basics. If you return for more workshops, we can also teach you how to start your first project like a headband, a scarf, or a dishcloth.

Confident-crafters:

If you’re already a seasoned knitter or crocheter, you are also welcome to bring your current project and join us for knitting conversation and companionship.-You can also bring your own pattern and we can help you read it.

Where to find us

Our knitting class takes place every Sunday from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the No. 52 Cafe (in the Pavilion in Boxhagener Platz at the corner of Grünberger Str. and Gärtnerstraße).

There is usually a market happening in the square while we have our knitting club – but we are still open! Look between the stalls to find us, or watch the image below for visual directions.

What you need to bring

When you attend our Berlin knitting and crochet club all you need to bring is yourself!

Our workshop leaders have a basic selection of yarn and knitting needles to borrow during the session. Of course, if you want to keep knitting at home, you are welcome to bring your own materials. If you have any questions about what to buy, we can answer them during the session.

The benefits of our knitting and crochet workshop

“I love knitting because it quiets my mind, and it brings me joy to look at something tangible and think ‘I made that!’”
— Sophie, knitting workshop leader
“I love crochet because the result always reflects the time and care you put into it — there’s no shortcut or way to hide mistakes. Sometimes those tiny ‘mistakes’ lead to something unexpectedly beautiful, and you can always go back and fix things, too. I think that’s a lot like life.”
— Yoojin, knitting and crochet workshop leader

When you knit or crochet, you’re creating something warm and tangible — and taking part in a cosy, creative hobby that can offer meaningful benefits for your mental wellbeing. We’re looking forward to casting on with you this Sunday. Book your spot today.

Sophie

Our knitting workshop leader Sophie taught herself to knit four years ago and never looked back! She loves playing with colour and texture when knitting, and can talk about knitting techniques all day long. She began volunteering at ForEveryone after joining the knitting club as a regular attendee.

  • Years spent knitting: four
  • Favourite colours: mint and teal
  • Favourite things to knit: lacy shawls and colourwork sweaters
  • Favourite thing about knitting: the magic of turning a pile of string into something cosy

Yoojin

I studied Fine Arts and Fashion Design at university in Korea, and in 2023 I came to Germany. I wanted to free myself from the pressure of my major and from society’s expectations, and to find the version of myself that I really want to be. In the middle of that journey, I happened to discover “ForEveryone” at Boxi.

It honestly felt like fate. I wanted to get to know the city through the people who live here, and I wanted to share the things I love — so this place was a perfect match for me.
